Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) is a technology being contemplated to mitigate the negative environmental
trends of anthropogenic carbon dioxide generation. But current materials used for CO2 scrubbing are very energy intensive.
By controlling guest-framework interactions we designed a material that requires little energy to regenerate,
yet has extremely high selectivity for CO2; the precise design of the CO2 trap thus leads to remarkably high adsorptions,
even in the harsh flue gas environment.
